These cacao pods are from the Dereza farms in Nagcarlan, Laguna. I used to think of cacao in the rich browns of chocolate, but it's amazing to see this gorgeous purple color turn up in the flowers, the skin of the unripe fruit, and all the way into the cotyledons. I look forward to doing this painting again and complete it with the flowers and dissections.
 
The original watercolor artwork was done on 9"x12" cotton paper and finished in 2018. You will be getting an archival reproduction, professionally recreated using 100% cotton paper and pigment inks, it will last as long* as the original work.

The complimentary picture frame allows convenient presentation for giving the prints as a gift.
